The limited artist’s edition of The Dry Salvages by Elisabetta Benassi is a compact wooden box, containing the artist’s book and one of the 10,000 bricks from the exhibition vice versa – curated by Bartolomeo Pietromarchi, The Italian Pavilion at the the 55th International Art Exhibition, la Biennale di Venezia, 2013 – representing a unique piece of space debris.
The 10,000 items published in the book are the space debris in orbit around the Earth, selected by the artist from the public version of the NORAD (North American Aerospace Defence Command) Space Object Catalogue, and correspond to the 10,000 bricks in the exhibition. Each one of the 66 copies comes with a signed certificate.
